Most international veterinary schools require students to write the GRE.

If you are planning to apply for schools outside of Canada please make note of which schools are AVMA accredited. A list can be found here: http://www.avma.org/education/cvea/colleges_accredited/colleges_accredited.asp. If you attend a school that is not AVMA accredited you will spend a lot of work, time (at least one to two years), and money to be able to work in North America. Some schools are accredited by AVMA and the Royal College of Veterinary Medicine which will open up options to work in the commonwealth or EU. Before applying abroad, be sure to check prices. Many schools are charging $40,000+ to attend school for one year.
